Discussions involving CEO Mark Zuckerberg and Instagram head Adam Mosseri highlighted TikTok’s significant impact on Meta’s market position.
Zuckerberg referred to Facebook as a “challenger” that has “lost the mindshare and momentum.”
He recognized TikTok’s ability to create a “feeling of shared context” among users.
Mosseri said that Facebook is no longer the default platform for discovery.
He predicted that TikTok could eventually surpass YouTube, which he considers the current leader in video content.
